Spinning clay gives out an energy which I attempt to capture. Much of my thrown work consists of fluid sketches in clay with surfaces that ripple and undulate. My aim is to achieve a harmony of balance and proportion that allows the forms to stand alone, visually centered.

I paint cyclic scenes of windblown foliage which wind round cylindrical shapes like narrative. Glazes and firing effects are devised to enhance the particular character of other forms.
